It's Sunday and I woke up pretty late... while I'm waiting for Inter Milan's match to start I decided to write a little blog about this monitor I bought last week, which I personally use combined to my lovely and best Iiyama HM903DT CRT.
As you can see, I mainly use it as a secondary monitor, for emails,work,chat and play some fun games at high resolutions,definately not for competitive FPS. Why? Because CRTs are still better for First Person Shooters, and even tho ghosting at native resolution (1920x1200) might be really low, I can still feel the delay (especially while moving the mouse).

- 24” Wide ColorTFT LCD 1920x1200 Resolution , Contract 2000:1
- TN Display, 5 ms
- Pivot
- HDMI,Componet,VGA, S-video

Beh, gli LCD staranno anche migliorando, ma il mio Sony Trinitron 21" è deceduto da pochi giorni e nonostante abbia ora di fronte un'accoppiata 24" + 19" LCD non riesco a togliermi di dosso un certo senso di tristezza... :)

i am planning to buy this LG monitor or the Samsung 245BW..
I tried to find some reivews on this LG L246WH but i cant seem to find much about it on the net..
u mentioned about some lag.. can you please tell about it more in detail? cos i will be mainly using it for gaming and HD movies..
With 5ms response i wouldnt have expected any lag..

This monitors is definately better than those LCD from 2 years ago, but like any other LCD there's still abit of ghosting, and even if with this monitor or with these new LCD 2ms monitor, might be really low, I can personally still feel the delay on the mouse/sensitivity/controls and the monitor itself.. maybe because I'm used to play with CRT since forever ;)
The best thing to do is ALWAYS use the native resolution, activate antialiasing (4x for example)and some high details, and the ghosting might be alot less and you might get used to it.

and i did some more research and saw tht the benq fp241w has got many good reviews.. so thinkin of goin for it..even though its much more costly.. cos am not gonna buy a 24 incher every few months right :) anyway..thnx for ur input..
so u gaming on ur crt or ur lcd? u do know tht lookin at a crt for long time is quite harmful for the eyes as compared to lcd rite..
Hi..how are the viewing angles on this monitor? I read that they would be very goood for a TN-panel monitor.
I was thinking about watching movies and during that you will probably change the position many times; your head will go up, down and so own. How does this affect the colors, hope not much.
hi tukez.. i can probabaly giv my 2 cents regarding tht, as i have been reading about these for quite sometime now..
TN panels do not have good viewing angles.. infact TN panels have the least viewing angles compared to other panels.. The only +ve thing abt TN panels is their faster response time.. if you are planning to use the monitor for gaming, then viewing angle doesnt really matter, as u will be sitting towards the center most of the time..
But if you are planning to use it like a TV, then i think you shud look into other panels.. as they provide better viewing angles and better contrast, picture quality..

Thanks for the reply but I think you misunderstood me. Yes I am aware that TN panels have poor viewing angles. But I am interested in about does LG L246WH-BN have good viewing angles compared to other TN-panels. I have read that it would be good compared to others.
I also saw some video in Youtube about this monitor. It demonstrated a little of those viewing angles and they looked quite good but I am not gonna make any decisions based on a low quality video. That's why it would be interesting to hear from an actual user. Or I could try to go find it in some electronic shops :).

okie.. actually even i was in the same dilemma a while back.. cos other TN panels claim 160/160 degrees viewing angle but this LG claims 178 degrees.. But the problem is this LG monitor doesnt have much reviews on it.. Regarding the samsung tn panel, i have read tht the actual viewing angle is much much lesser than the claimed figure.
But anyway i decided to go with the benq fp24w..
As for u, i think the best thing wud be to see it live next to other panels if you could, before you decide..
